Living east of there
lions lived outside and we walked among them
some stayed close enough to smell the rotting vines and made their camp
we moved further east
not forgetting
the sense of us and us against force
and force outside
the longing for words to be the river
the garden tended
the rose picked
the I being thou and you and us
breath and its flow thru ever
the run of elk thru moonwash
